Introducing the Louisville Rowing Club juniors team!! This team was just started in 2021 and if you aren’t familiar rowing, it is an incredibly expensive sport, but there is nothing else like it! This organization focuses on nurturing healthy lifestyles, a desire to go to college, and learning about working with others.

From a local high school counselor – I had a female senior in my office crying over the realization that she would be unable to compete in her senior season of Lacrosse. When we got into the discussion she mentioned the only thing keeping her from playing is the $250 in sports fees. She may be many things but a liar is not one of them. The student has a part time job at, however due to the nature of lacrosse season she is only working on Sunday’s, these pay checks are going to help her family with bills and gas.

Introducing the Jr. Mustangs Youth Wheelchair Basketball team!! If you think your child’s travel basketball is expensive think about who it expensive it is for this team as the only wheelchair team in the area! That means ALL of their games are travel games, so the travel expenses are much much higher.

Kenwood Elementary in JCPS music teacher, Ms. Phillips, has been using the same music symbols since she started 17 years ago and all the straps were rotted off. She has a bucket drumming club and they call themselves The Chipped Sticks because their drum sticks were in such bad shape. Well it’s time for them to come up with new name because they no longer have to use those old nasty drum sticks!

The Nomads 14U baseball team reached out to Grant’s Giving to see if we could help out with expenses for a couple of kiddos that were going through a tough time and we were more than happy to help. The Nomads have also decided to put the GG logo on the sleeves of their uniforms.

West Louisville Soccer Club

After an inaugural fall season where West Louisville Soccer Club had over 70 boys and girls participating, this winter they’ve been able to provide free Futsal training to children at the Southwick Community Center. For the spring season, they will be partnering with Louisville Parks and Recreation to provide mentorship and high quality soccer training to even more kids!

This is Built4This Track Club and they are a brand new club looking that serves youth across the state in building their athletic abilities and educational skills.

5th graders at Zachary Taylor Elementary (not pictured) recently wrapped up a unit that required them to come up with a business plan to own and operate a food truck, they even built their food trucks out of shoe boxes. Today, thanks to Grants Giving, they got to have pizza cones from Annie Up!

Safiyyah Dance Company just announced that their company of dancers have been selected to compete in the World of Dance Finals National championship week in Los Angeles July 28-Aug 1st. Grant’s Giving was thrilled to give them $2000 to help them get there! This is such a blessing and a beautiful opportunity for these amazing dancers. Represent Louisville well!

With your support we were able to purchase new scooters and other toys to help provide Christmas to the children affected by the Kentucky tornadoes!

Sean, a Kentucky foster child

Sean (age 15) is a Kentucky foster child who was able to participate in a trial martial class and loved it. GGF will now be able to pay the first few months tuition. Not only will it help him learn discipline, responsibility, and improve self-confidence but he also has friends from school that participate at the same academy and that could help foster friendships and add in community support for Sean.
